BC SPCA Calendar Contest: Make your pet a star!
Wendy C. and Mocha
Meet Mocha, our little Shih-Tzu. Mocha had an original caretaker, who decided that Mocha was not to be their forever dog. At a very young age, Mocha was then sent to the care of a fantastic foster family. While there, he ate well, slept well, played well, and most importantly, was well-loved. Despite this, Mocha's stay with the foster family was only temporary. So just as Mocha was getting ready to be sent off to the SPCA, the foster family contacted me and asked me if I wanted Mocha. Before I met him, I said yes.
Mocha came to me when he was 8 months old. He is now 6. Over the past years, Mocha has been my travelling partner, my movie night pillow, my taste-tester (he's always approved!), and now, his best role yet, a cuddly entertainer to my one year old daughter.
He brings joy to the faces of the young and the old, and will stop at a stand still when we are going on walks to say hi to all passers-by. We'd always wanted to have Mocha contribute to enriching the lives of others, but we never knew how, until we saw this opportunity to benefit the BC SPCA.
The BC SPCA has cared for more than 29,000 abused, abandoned and injured animals each year, and rely primarily on the generosity of the public's donations.
In this contest being held by the BC SPCA, you will have an opportunity to vote for Mocha to appear in one of the pages of the BC SPCA 2014 calendar. Every dollar you donate is equivalent to one vote. In the end, it won't matter whether Mocha appears on the calendar, because he will always be our little star pin-up boy. But the dollars that you donate will make a difference to the many lives of animals will be cared for by the BC SPCA.
So vote with love and vote big! Thank you for your support!
